From the plantation entrance to the reception area, the tour guide will have 5 minutes to explain the group different data about the Hacienda such us history, location, climate, topography, etc
The first stage of the coffee tour is our rancho "El Mirador" where the tourists can sample our delicious and prime gourmet coffee. This place has a capacity of a group of 60 people well accommodated in comfortable chairs and tables.
Here, our great team of tour guides will introduce themselves to the group, will offer them the usage of restrooms and will get them ready to start with the tour, that consists of 7 different stations, as follows:
Before we get to the Seedlings, visitors can admire our veggies. We have tomatoes, corn, radish, cucumber and much more! The tour begins next to La Casona, where we have our nursery demonstration. Here, the group can see the different stages during the first year of the coffee plant.
After this, the group is taken inside the plantation. We built a trail so the visitors can actually experience how it feels like to be out in a coffee field.
The oxcart is a very important icon in our coffee history; in the third station of the coffee tour you will be able to discover not only why it was so important to us but also why we paint it now with so many colors. Besides this, you will hear the story of our national saying “Get on the Wagon”.
In this stop, the group can see and learn how coffee beans are processed. In this area, you can see how coffee is peeled, selected, dried and stored.
In the fifth station of the coffee tour, is where coffee flavor and aroma arise. In this huge room, you can observe the big machinery we have for roasting our coffee.
The next stop in the tour is a visit to an old house. We built a little house, so you can see how our ancestors used to live. This is the perfect spot for our guide to explain you how we used to brew coffee, and why, even though it has been over 200 years we still use a chorreador instead a coffee maker.
Here, the visitors will have the opportunity to learn how to taste coffee. We have international tasters that will teach them how to determine what a good coffee is. This service have an additional $ 3.00 cost per person.
At the end of the Coffee Tour, once you have learned and unwrapped all the secrets within a coffee cup, it is time to get a souvenir. In this store, you will find all the coffee you want.
